Robbin King, a native of the St. Louis area , has had an interest in music since as long as he can remember. Like many great artists before him, the foundation of his talent was through the spiritual experiences of the Baptist Church, where he played piano at church services for $1.00. Later, Robbin began to explore other musical avenues, including organizing local bands, and joining his high school jazz and marching bands. Family, friends and teachers encouraged him to continue pursuing his dream and to use his extraordinary gift.

With hard work and perseverance, Robbin received a music scholarship to Southern Illinois University. While attending SIU, he was quickly recognized as a "stand-out" in the music department. As a result, among other awards and honors, Robbin was asked to perform a piano solo at the 1982 World Series in St. Louis, Missouri.

Eventually Robbin made his way to the East Coast and decided to make Virginia Beach his home.
